Following the promotion of our current Assistant Headteacher to the role of Deputy Headteacher at the school, the Governors of Ysgol Gymunedol Rhydypennau are keen to appoint a qualified person to the position of Assistant Headteacher. In addition to other responsibilities, the Assistant Headteacher will have specific responsibility as Key Stage 2 department leader, pupil wellbeing and school-wide assessment.
The successful candidate will be able to evidence a consistent record of high-quality teaching and learning in a primary school, and ideally, will have experience of teaching across the Key Stage 2 age range. They will demonstrate the skills and motivation to lead the department as well as a commitment to continuous professional development at leadership level.
The successful candidate will join an experienced and dedicated Senior Leadership Team, which includes the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher. We are looking for an individual who has the necessary qualities to be able to collaborate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, and who are highly effective and efficient in all aspects of the role and of the school’s work.

Candidates will be expected to be available for interviews on Wednesday 16th July. As part of the interview, you will be required to give a presentation, no longer than 10 minutes in length, outlining how you have successfully developed independent learners at your current setting.
