The role
Working as part of the Sport Business and Administration Team, you will oversee and contribute to a team of sport administrators to ensure Sport Hallam delivers an excellent customer/user experience to all its stakeholders.
You’ll work across the Sport Hallam Team as well as the wider university to support and promote various programmes, bookings, processes, and sport participation initiatives.
It is essential that you have good customer service skills, as the role involves dealing with customer queries in person, over the phone, and via email.
You need to have excellent communication skills and be confident working with a wide variety of people and platforms.
You will be expected to deliver a high-quality administrative service while also receiving and responding to customer enquiries. Therefore, organization and prioritization skills, along with initiative, are important.
Strong IT skills and attention to detail are essential, as the role requires using various operating systems to facilitate bookings and enquiries, as well as managing finances, including sales, purchasing, and invoicing.
The role is mainly Monday to Friday, but the department operates from Monday to Sunday. Willingness and flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings to support university open days and events are required.
The department
The Sport Service is part of Student Success within the Student Futures and Support Directorate, managing four sport facilities: Sheffield Hallam Sports Park, Sheffield Hallam City Athletics Stadium, City Gym, and Pearson Gym. It also offers a wide range of sport and physical activity programmes and services for students, staff, and the local community.
With approximately 40 contracted staff and a support team of over 60, you will join a passionate workforce dedicated to transforming lives through sport and physical activity.
