Overview of role
The King’s Service Centre Infrastructure, Platforms and Security teams procure, build and manage the IT systems which power King’s College London. The role of the Scrum Master is to facilitate and support the day-to-day running of teams implementing; Projects, Service Improvements and Operational Change.
The is an entry level role. Where we are ideally looking for someone with a keen interest in Agility, an understanding of its benefits, has undertaken some self-study or experienced working in an agile way and is now looking to take on a team and put it into action. They will help with the delivery of a range of business projects and continued operation of King’s College.
The successful candidate will need to build relationships across a wide stakeholder community and business partners, to ensure work is delivered to budget and within timescales, driving innovation in line with the University’s requirements.
Accountabilities
* Ensure that Scrum teams are working effectively towards business objectives being delivered with high quality standards.
* Confidently facilitate Scrum rituals & workshops enabling teams to deliver value.
* Coach teams on Agile/Scrum principles and values.
* Act as a servant leader to several teams, leading by example.
* Motivate teams to succeed, be self-managing and cross functional
* Help the team to identify and remove impediments.
* Protect teams from internal and external influencers.
* Assist in preventing & resolving conflict across teams.
* Assist with Project administration and training (Azure DevOps).
* Effective product backlog management with Product owner where appropriate.
* Ensure that the most valuable metrics are captured, accurate, and visible.
* Assist management in shaping the Organisations Agile journey.

* Exceptional people management skills, with a particular emphasis on interpersonal and negotiating skills. (E)
* Significant experience in development projects. (D)
* Experience working on Infrastructure, Platforms or Cyber Security Projects. (D)
* Significant experience of managing / leading, inspiring, engaging and motivating a team and colleagues to achieve excellent results. (D)
* Excellent conversational, relationship and interpersonal skills. (E)
* Ability to clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. (E)
