Purpose of the role:
Responsible for the delivery of training and assessment for a range of programmes and qualifications, designing material development, training, assessment, and course delivery.
As a Training Development Advisor, you will support the Health & Safety Managers to ensure the project teams are following health & safety regulations, legislation, and policies, and minimizing occupational risk on site.
Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:
1. Guiding and supporting allocated project teams in the implementation of the BYLOR behavioural programme.
2. Providing robust HS&E advice and coaching in HS&E matters to project teams.
3. Assessing hazards or deficiencies, rating and ranking risks to enable effective evaluation and communication of required actions.
4. Conducting inspections and audits of projects, establishments, and offices to ensure compliance with the monitoring programme.
5. Investigating incidents and producing thorough, comprehensive reports addressing underlying issues, not just the end result (e.g., injury/damage).
6. Ensuring project teams implement relevant parts of BYLOR's Safety Management Systems (SMS) and identifying corrective actions when required.
7. Addressing key HSE project risks and proposing solutions.
8. Assessing subcontractors for HSE and contributing to work-winning tenders.
9. Utilizing behavioural tools as part of a continuous improvement cycle.
Essential skills & knowledge:
Technical Skills:
* Relevant experience in Health & Safety within a construction environment.
* Environmental knowledge to support BYLOR's environmental agenda.
* Understanding of HSE legislation.
Interpersonal Skills:
* A strong communicator with the ability to work within a team environment.
* Ability to coach team members on key HSE risks.
* Collaborative approach across all functions.
* Professional image and promotion of project values.
* Commitment to work according to processes.
* Minimize waste of resources and materials.
Education & Qualifications:
* Level 3 in Education & Training or competence-based interview against the job role.
* NEBOSH qualification.
Additional Information:
All positions with BYLOR are employed directly by either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Publics, and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes, and annual holiday allowance. Some grades also include a company car allowance.
Unless stated otherwise, all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
