Offer description

Join our journey to create a new experience for The National Lottery and help us to power change for the greater good.

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence across Europe which includes: Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus & Italy.

While the main contribution of The National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do. Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey by creating a National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

We’ll talk a bit more about us further down the page, but for now – let’s talk about the role and who we’re looking for…

A bit about the role…

We are looking for an experienced and commercially-focused finance business partner to work with multiple functions and stakeholders to provide finance support to projects. As Allwyn transforms the National Lottery with the aim of doubling payments to good causes by the end of the licence, we will be undertaking multiple transformational projects to help drive this – focusing on revenue growth and operational efficiency. This role will play a key part in costing these projects and working with business teams to provide on-going finance support in operationalising them. The projects are both Capex and Opex in nature, so the ability to understand the financial implications of this on the economic model of the National Lottery and bring this to life for non-finance teams is key to this role.

What you’ll be doing…

* Working with stakeholders across the business to ensure projects are robustly costed, and these costs understood by stakeholders and finance, and then tracked and managed effectively within budget envelopes.
* Develop ongoing forecasts through project lifecycles.
* Act as a sounding board to project stakeholders, using business acumen and commercial awareness to both counsel and constructively challenge to drive the best outcomes.
* Communicate appropriately within Finance so that other Finance Business Partners and Finance Management are appropriately consulted or informed about the projects.
* Provide financial and scenario modelling as assumptions or the environment changes.
* Develop reporting packs to track actual spend vs budget/forecast, spend to go, risks and opportunities etc.
* Provide financial support and guidance for queries of an ad-hoc nature.

What experience we’re looking for…

* Qualified accountant
* Experience of working in project environments is a big plus – strong understanding of Capex/Opex is a minimum
* Advanced Excel Modelling and PowerPoint skills
* Very comfortable working with large data sets
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to apply this to decision making and recommendations
* Collaborative and able to work cross-functionally with both finance and non-finance colleagues
* Ability to work independently, create own priorities and manage upwards accordingly
* Presentation skills and experience influencing business stakeholders
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change frequently
* Displays excellent attention to detail
* Understanding of Lottery/Gaming industry beneficial
* Use of Enterprise Financial Systems such as forecasting and data visualisation tools. SAP/SAC/BPC a plus.
