We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team at Coryton Power Station. We are expanding our Engineering team to strengthen our system security and technical capability to support the long-term performance of our recently upgraded plant.

We're looking for someone with a strong systems engineering background that can support all aspects of system security and resilience, including strategy, policies, standards, compliance and assurance across the business. You'll be supporting our Engineering Manager to effectively manage the compliance and integrity of our Control and Information Systems. Key Responsibilities

Manage Risk through lifecycle analysis of systems, understanding threats and vulnerabilities through monitoring, identification, remediation and reporting.
Maintain and Update system Cyber security policies and procedures.
Coordinate Management of Change activities, ensuring plant change & modification procedures are applied in accordance with InterGen policy.
Carryout internal and cross site Technical RCA investigations.
Coordinate and maintain Engineering Risk Assessments. Support Strategic Asset Spares. Manage control and Information systems architecture and software.
Support the management of InterGen information tracking databases including but not limited to: Health and Safety, Risk Management, Availability analysis, Plant Status Review's and CAPEX programs.
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate cyber threats. Work with Cyber Security Manager with incident response activities and investigations into security breaches.
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and testing of systems to identify vulnerabilities and document necessary improvements.
Investigate and analyse any escalated security matters to the Cyber Security Manager, identify methods and solutions in response to security related queries.
Participate in other Engineering Department initiatives and support the Maintenance and Reliability and Operations team with experience and knowledge as required by the Engineering Manager.

Why you?

As our new Systems Engineer, you'll bring solid IT server skills and Network Design experience combined with the knowledge of OT Security solutions. You have a strong background in areas like Thermal Power Generation and/or CCGT power plant operations, process control, instrumentation, HV electrical systems, Gas/Steam turbines, boilers, balance of plant and computerised Maintenance Management Systems (however we still want to hear from you if you have other industry experience where knowledge could be transferred)

Collaboration is key – you work well across disciplines to deliver system strategies that drive long-term plant performance however you're also able to work unsupervised and take responsibility during dynamic situations. You're proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a small team environment, sharing expert knowledge and data trends to pinpoint faults and provide robust solutions that keep Coryton running smoothly.

Education/Experience

Minimum of HND in C&I or Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline with a proven record of practical Operational/Maintenance experience/knowledge. (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable industry experience or other relevant qualifications).

A minimum of five years process industry experience operations and engineering environment, preferably 3 years associated within the power generation industry with supervisory experience would be preferred but other experience may be considered where skills can be transferred
You'll have worked with OT security solutions and have experience of operating within regulatory frameworks such as the NIS Directive or the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
Practical knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443 standards would be highly beneficial.
Solid understanding of all HSE aspects it's a fundamental requirement - NEBOSH or IOSH qualification would be beneficial but not essential
