Yourtown Workskills Construction Traineeship No experience required Car and Licence not essential but preferred Must have an interest in Construction Paid 21 week traineeship yourtown is a trusted provider of services for young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, long-term unemployment, prevention of youth suicide, child protection, as well as support for those experiencing domestic and family violence. Through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs, we offer training and support for unemployed or underemployed young people. Realise your potential at yourtown. yourtown is looking for 8 young people who are enthusiastic about starting a career in the construction industry. This program is a Skilling Queenslanders for Work project which is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government. Participants will learn about the industry through hands on industry experience. You will be supported by a qualified Trainer and a Youth Worker. During the program participants will gain 21 weeks paid industry experience; a Certificate 1 in Construction and assistance transitioning into full time employment following the traineeship. Trainees will work at the BlueCare Ipswich site where you will learn a variety of Construction skills; such as Fencing, Carpentry and Grounds Maintenance. Who can apply? Young People aged between 15 and 24; Must not have completed a Certificate I (in industry); Must meet eligibility requirements for a Working with Children Blue Card; Must be able to complete a National Police Check; Not currently a full time student at TAFE, University or School; Be local to the (Insert suburb) area; Permanent resident of Australia; New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Qld; Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Holder living in Qld; or Temporary Visa Holder living in Qld with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
