Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (40 hours per week)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Rate: £15.91 – £17.00 per hour
Job Overview
SWIFT Temps Ltd are seeking an experienced and skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our client’s team in Pontefract. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering 2D and 3D drawings, fabricating and welding metal components or structures, and performing quality checks to ensure products meet exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret engineering 2D & 3D drawings
* Measure and mark out cutting and bending lines
* Ensure all required parts for assembly are present
* Double-check design specifications before starting work
* Fabricate and construct metal components
* Grind and finish completed products
* Perform quality checks on completed items
* Complete quality check sheets
* Comply with company Health & Safety regulations
Required Skills and Experience
* Previous experience as a metal fabricator/welder
* Experience working with mild steel, Zintec & galvanised sheet (0.9mm – 30mm)
* Experience working with mild steel 2mm – 10mm
* Proficiency in operating an overhead crane (advantage)
* Welding experience/certification (advantage)
* Strong knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Skilled in using metal fabrication tools
* Good mathematical and engineering abilities
* Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects and stand for long periods
