As a Junior Lawyer, you’ll be an integral part of our Real Estate Development team, advising and assisting on a variety of matters for clients including housebuilders, commercial developers, landlord investors, and commercial tenants. Your work will cover: Drafting and advising on infrastructure service easements, section 104 water connection agreements (and associated easements), wayleaves, transfers, leases, and general commercial property matters. Supporting the production of section 38 and 278 agreements (with associated easements) and occasionally section 106 planning agreements. Assisting on strategic projects and wider real estate development matters alongside experienced colleagues. You will have the opportunity to manage your own files, assist on large-scale transactions, and work closely with clients and other property professionals. This is a role where you can grow technical expertise and take on more responsibility as your experience develops. Key Responsibilities Managing your own caseload where allocated, ensuring cases are progressed to conclusion. Assisting senior fee earners on larger projects and transactions. Building strong relationships with clients and keeping them updated in person and in writing. Drafting a range of legal documents, including replies to enquiries, transfers, leases, easements, and wayleaves. Preparing files for completion and dealing with ledger reviews, credit/debit balances, and compliance tasks. Maintaining team key date spreadsheets and ensuring deadlines are met. Assisting with administrative elements such as file closures and billing. Keeping your legal knowledge up to date and applying it in practice. Working collaboratively to help the department achieve its targets. Identifying opportunities to improve processes and working methods. What We’re Looking For Degree in law, CILEx qualification, or equivalent (desirable). Experience in commercial property and/or conveyancing is advantageous. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy and attention to detail. A proactive, positive, and adaptable approach with a willingness to learn. Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft in plain English. Analytical, problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure. A team player who also works well independently after initial training. Professional, credible, and able to act with tact, discretion, and flexibility when needed.
