Senior Licensing Officer - Ref: EE05425 Grade: G8 Salary Range: £36,124 - £40,476 per annum (Pay Award Pending) The post holder will be required to undertake duties outside normal working hours, including at short notice and may agree with their manager in advance a varied work pattern for a particular planned out of hours operation and duties. The post holder must meet the mobility requirements of the post (day to day use of a suitable motor vehicle including for out of hours work). Under the general direction of the Team Leader, assist in the delivery of the Licensing service, in line with current corporate, national and regional policies and priorities. Under the direction of the Licensing Team Leader to co-ordinate, manage and assist Licensing Officers in the provision of the Licensing Service. Allocate work, identify and prioritise high risk cases, develop projects to tackle issues within scope of the service and positively contribute to partnership working to ensure resources are deployed to best effect to achieve appropriate impacts and outcomes for residents, businesses and visitors to Walsall. Produce statistical information and reports on finance and licensing activities as may be required. To provide excellent customer service at all times including overseeing the issuing of licences, registrations, permissions and permits in an accurate and timely fashion, dealing with initial contact with customers and to give advice and information and cover the duty officer role as necessary. Undertake the investigation of offences and other incidents of non-compliance with legislation within the scope of the service in line with policies procedures, service standards and statutory requirements. Write, review and consult on committee reports for matters in scope of the service, attend and present these reports to Licensing and Safety Committee and its sub committees and assist with any appeals to a court of summary jurisdiction where necessary. To undertake mediation meetings between applicants, agents, members of the public and licence holders. You Will need: Good general education including English and Maths to GCSE or equivalent (level 2 on the national qualifications framework) Licensing certificates to show in-depth knowledge of subject area or number of years in service to prove substantial experience. Inclusive of BIAAB Level 2 for licensing practitioners (Alcohol and Gambling) or equivalent.
