The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Illustration practitioner to join Medical Illustration Services, NHS Lanarkshire, as a Clinical Team Manager.
Reporting to the Service Manager, the post holder will support the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the Medical Illustration team across multiple sites. The role combines hands-on clinical practice with responsibility for staff supervision, workload management, rota planning and service improvement. This is a part time permanent 30hrs per week post.
Additional activities can include:
1. Day to day management of Medical Illustration Team
2. Co-ordinates the delivery of a comprehensive, quality, Medical Illustration service in NHSL
3. Assist the HOS in the development of the service and Medical Illustration activities
4. Production of appropriate NHSL protocols in Medical Illustration
5. Supervision and training of staff in Medical Illustration
6. Performs advanced clinical duties, assesses and undertakes own workload of patients/clients and maintains associated records
7. Undertakes/participates in research in the discipline
8. Maintains own practice in Medical Illustration and participates in the associated rota
9. Authorised signatory who contributes to formation of budget and income generation
10. Shared responsibility for the professional lead, development and management of the Medical Illustration Service
11. Performs as a Senior Medical Illustration Practitioner
12. Jointly responsible for the development of staff, and the design and setting of standards for clinical and non-clinical photography across NHS Lanarkshire, with continuing responsibility for delivery of high-quality work to clients’ specifications and deadlines, ensuring client satisfaction

What we'll need you to bring
13. AHCS Registered Medical Illustration Practitioner (accredited register) or equivalent
14. BSc in Medical Illustration Or a BSc In Photography with a post-graduate qualification in Medical Illustration, or an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise gained through experience and theoretical study of Medical Illustration
15. Experience in clinical Medical Illustration across a broad range of specialties
16. Evidence of continued professional development
17. Experience in training / education and personal staff development
18. Detailed knowledge of Medical Illustration practice, clinical and general imaging procedures and policies
19. Detailed knowledge of appropriate legislation surrounding consent, copyright and data protection
20. Demonstrate an in depth knowledge and understanding of current trends in the NHS and the medical illustration profession
21. Detailed knowledge of clinical conditions, anatomy and physiology relevant to Medical Illustration practice
22. Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy, particularly with image manipulation software
23. Experience in the development and management of digital image storage systems and associated databases
24. Good organisational, communications and leadership skills
25. Demonstrate ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team
A driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
26. BSc In Photography with a post-graduate qualification in Medical Illustration, or an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise gained through experience and theoretical study of Medical Illustration
27. Evidence of continued professional development
28. Teaching, mentoring or assessor qualification
29. Leadership / Management qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and skills gained through experience
30. Experience in clinical Medical Illustration across a broad range of specialties
31. Experience in training / education and personal staff development
32. Experience in the development and management of digital image storage systems and associated databases
33. Experience of rota planning and service wide workload management
34. Experience in managing staff performance, appraisals or disciplinary processes
35. Detailed knowledge of Medical Illustration practice, clinical and general imaging procedures and policies
36. Detailed knowledge of appropriate legislation surrounding consent, copyright and data protection
37. Demonstrate an in depth knowledge and understanding of current trends in the NHS and the medical illustration profession
38. Detailed knowledge of clinical conditions, anatomy and physiology relevant to Medical Illustration practice
39. In depth Experience with Adobe creative suite
40. Apple Mac Systems and OSX
41. Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy, particularly with image manipulation software
42. Good organisational, communications and leadership skills
43. Demonstrate ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team
44. Previous Experience in Managing a team

Location
This role will be based in Medical Illustration within University Hospital Monklands.
