Overview

Kiddy Winks Day Nursery is owned and operated by Kidderminster Elim Church, a member of Elim Foursquare Gospel Alliance who are the registered provider for the setting.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate floating Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in the development of young minds, ensuring that each child receives the attention and care they need. The role will be working between the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm 3 days a week initially (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) with the possibility of increasing to 5 days to support the demand of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

To provide safe, high quality care and education for young children, working as part of the team under the direction of the Supervisor / Manager.

To carry out the role of a key person for a group of children as directed by the supervisor/nursery management team.

To build and maintain positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues of the setting.

Main duties:

To ensure that all safeguarding standards are maintained to a high level, taking appropriate action, within the policies and procedures of the setting where required.

To participate fully in the observation, assessment and planning cycle, including submitting quality observations to demonstrate the progress of key children and others in the setting.

Be part of a team, providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage children to develop.

Work in close partnership with parents/carers to develop independence, confidence and self-esteem, building children's resilience and wellbeing to give them the best start in life.

To attend in-service training courses and training meetings as required and to read all relevant literature in order to keep up to date with childcare/Early years legislation, particularly the Ofsted and Safeguarding requirements

To play an active role in the setting to build a stimulating, safe and hygienic environment for all children that provides a high quality of educations and builds 'cultural capital' for all.

Demonstrate a proactive approach, using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility for getting things done.

To work in the rooms across the nursery as needed.

Ensure confidentiality is maintained within the setting.

To take responsibility for your own professional development, maintaining the knowledge, skills and understanding required for the role.

To carry out any such duties as may be reasonably required to ensure the efficient running of the setting.

Requirements

* A minimum level 2 qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience in childcare is essential, with a desire to progress in formal qualifications.
* Proven experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
* A drive to create an inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of children.
* Leadership qualities that enable you to inspire and support colleagues.
* A passion for nurturing children's development through play-based learning.
* Experience with SEND desirable.

Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
