We are currently recruiting for Trainee Butchers to work for an established food production company based in Southampton. This role offers candidates a career opportunity to become an experienced knife hand within the catering sector.
Duties include:
* Preparing and cutting various meat types according to size, weight and type specifications.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with food hygiene.
* Working in a temperature controlled (chilled) environment.
* Ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
* Follow cutting instructions as directed.
* Working in a team.
Requirements:
* Experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
* Knowledge of food prepararion & handling.
* Basic knife skills and experience of dicing, cutting and preparation.
* Work efficiently under pressure to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
* Excellent communication skills.
The role will be 12 weeks temporary-permanent, working Monday-Friday on a very early shift pattern and transport is preferred due to the rural location and limited public transport links.
