Your new company This university is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates & Facilities team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the mechanical systems that support our vibrant academic, research, and residential environments. Your new role Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and plumbing. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure minimal disruption to university operations. Support the safe operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across campus. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements. Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and university departments to deliver high-quality service. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance. What you'll need to succeed NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services. Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within a large or complex estate. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, and plumbing infrastructure. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Understanding of health and safety practices and legislation. Desirable Experience in a university, hospital, or public sector environment. Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS). Gas Safe registration or relevant certification.
