We're looking for a Group Operations Manager to lead our 50,000 sq ft warehouse and manufacturing site in Wigan. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Managing Director, offering the chance to influence strategy, lead a talented team, and optimise operations across warehousing, logistics, production, and supply chain. What You'll Be Responsible For: Warehouse & Logistics Management Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including goods in/out, inventory control, and layout optimisation. Ensure efficient storage, accurate stock levels, and timely order fulfilment.Manufacturing & Assembly Oversight Lead the manufacturing and assembly unit, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are consistently met. Drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.Team Leadership & Development Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team across warehouse and operations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the Buying Team to align procurement with operational needs. Partner with the Sales Team to ensure national account orders are processed and dispatched accurately and on time.Performance & Process Improvement Develop and monitor KPIs to track operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process enhancements.Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and legal regulations. Champion a safe working environment and proactive risk management.Strategic Planning & Growth Play a key role in shaping operational strategy as the business scales. Contribute to long-term planning, investment decisions, and infrastructure development. About You: Proven experience in a senior operations role, ideally within warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing. Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset. Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Business Central/NAV). Commercially astute with experience working alongside procurement or buying teams.
