Are you passionate about finance, looking for a new challenge to take your career to the next level? An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join my client on a 12 month, fixed-term contract basis.
My client is one of the UK’s largest food production businesses in the country, providing great tasting and high-quality products to some of the biggest supermarket chains and restaurants in the country. With processing plants and a supply-chain that spans the UK.
You’ll be a key member of the finance team and be responsible for the timey processing of invoices to ensure key suppliers are paid on time and within their agreed terms. You will also be involved in coaching the accounting system to automatically process invoices from suppliers to improve touchless processing rates. You will be in regular contact with requisitioners and suppliers to ensure all processes are followed and heavily involved in resolving supplier and invoice queries as well as reconciling supplier statements to the AP ledger.
Previous experience of working an AP role is required and ideally, you will have some experience of working with Oracle or another ERP system. However, this is not essential as full training will be provided. You will possess excellent numerical and communication skills with an eye for accuracy and detail, as well as the ability to use your initiative to prioritise workload. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential along with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. A minimum of GSCE Maths or equivalent will also be required for this role.
Our client places huge emphasis on training and developing all staff, and there is a possibility to gain additional qualifications to further your career within the organisation. The company believe in promoting and developing from within, so there are plenty of opportunities for career progression. Your working environment will be relaxed, but there is very much an emphasis on putting in the hard work. The team do socialise together, and regular work functions allow for great team bonding.
From a salary perspective you will be looking at between £24000 – 26,000, 31 days holiday, and a 5% matched pension. You will be expected to be office-based during your probationary period with the ability to work from home once trained; Mon – Fri 08:30am –17:00pm. Additional benefits include private medical insurance, death-in-service benefit, and company sick-pay.
We appreciate this is only a snapshot of the role, so if you are interested and want to know more, call me, send me a message (Richard Lambert on LinkedIn), DM, or whatever is easiest. We encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply. We love seeing diversity in our applicants. We use specialist technology to ensure there are no gender biases in our adverts.
Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail if you feel necessary.
