The SEN Unit is a vital and highly respected part of the school community, supporting pupils with a range of communication and interaction needs, including ASD, and ensuring they are given every opportunity to learn, grow and succeed.
The Role
* Teaching a small, specialist class of pupils with communication/interaction needs and ASD
* Pupils are developmentally working at approximately 2 years–Reception level
* Creating a safe, engaging and highly supportive learning environment
* Working closely with experienced support staff and the wider school team
* Delivering a creative, play-based and child-centred curriculum tailored to individual needs
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Has a passion for SEND and inclusive education
* Is patient, flexible, caring and reflective in their practice
* Experience with ASD/SEN is desirable but not essential – the right attitude is key
* Able to commit from Easter until the end of the academic year
