Job Overview
The Clinical Decontamination Assistant will work 4 days per week and provide a split role within the department, supporting the Cath Labs and TOE service. The role involves daily decontamination checks, cleaning of TOE probes, monitoring equipment records, assisting with patient observations, equipment transfer, and maintaining accurate records. Professional conduct, confidentiality, compassion, and adherence to UHBW values and policies are required. Applicants are required to declare if AI was used in their application.
Responsibilities
* Provide decontamination support to the Cath labs each day, including daily checks, cleaning of TOE probes, monitoring training and service records.
* Support the TOE service run from C602 Day Case, assisting with observations, provision of equipment, transfer of patients and supporting the team.
* Maintain accurate record keeping for both roles.
* Undertake equipment checks, monitor service records, and raise faults as needed.
* Clean, store and prepare TOE scopes for service provision.
* Maintain the decontamination room, organise equipment services, archive cleaning records and monitor stock levels.
* Ensure clinical areas are prepared and maintained for service delivery, with clear, concise documentation.
* Communicate effectively and work as a team to deliver care, identify service improvements, share good practice, and provide training when required.
* Use trust IT systems and report complaints, incidents, identify potential risks, and cooperate with official investigations.
* Maintain responsibility for continuing educational and development needs, including appraisals, personal development plans and audits.
