QA Technician | Quality Inspector | Manufacturing | Engineering

Salary: £15 per hour
Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 | Friday 07:30 – 12:00
Major Recruitment are hiring an experienced QA Technician to join our clients ever growing Quality team in Lichfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused individual with manufacturing or engineering experience to join a well-established and expanding business.
We are looking for candidates with previous experience who are confident carrying out inspections, interpreting engineering drawings and supporting continuous improvement.
The Role
1. Conducting first-off, in-process and final inspections
2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
3. Carrying out dimensional inspections using verniers, micrometres, height gauges and inspection equipment
4. Completing inspection reports and quality documentation accurately
5. Supporting investigations into non-conformances and corrective actions
6. Assisting with root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities
7. Supporting internal audits and process checks
8. Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
9. Supporting the maintenance of ISO quality standards and systems
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
10. Previous experience within a QA Technician, Quality Technician or Quality Inspector position
11. Manufacturing or engineering background
12. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
13. Experience using measuring and inspection equipment
14. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
15. Good communication and organisational skills
16. Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Desirable
17. Experience within fabrication, welding, machining or precision engineering
18. Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
19. Internal auditing experience
20. Understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods
21. CMM experience
