Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Well-being Support Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a school setting. About the Role
As a Well-being Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students to develop emotional resilience, confidence, and independence. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and families to ensure students receive consistent and effective support tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs
* Support students in managing emotions, anxiety, and behavioural challenges
* Promote the development of social and emotional skills
* Assist in the implementation of individualised support plans
* Encourage positive behaviour, self-confidence, and independence
* Provide a safe and supportive environment for students to express themselves
Candidate Requirements
* A genuine interest in supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* A patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience in a similar role or working with young people (desirable)
* A commitment to inclusive education and student well-being
