Role
We are looking for a Senior small animal vet to join our fabulous team at Park Issa! Our broad caseload includes medical and surgical cases, basic orthopaedics such as lateral suture and MMP cruciate repair, patella luxation and simple fractures. This is a perfect role for a vet who wants to work in a supportive environment.
This part‑time role works 28 hours per week, 8:30 am–6:30 pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday, occasionally providing in‑patient cover. The vet's involvement is minimal, primarily being aware if the nurse has a patient. One Saturday shift per eight weekends (8:30 am–4:30 pm) is required, and inpatients may need coverage until Monday morning. The majority of out‑of‑hours responsibility is covered by VetsNow.
The salary is up to £53,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About Us
Our well‑established practice is based in Oswestry, Shropshire near the Welsh border, and we have a branch practice 20 minutes away near Wrexham. We recently joined IVC and have a mixed caseload, plus a separate farm/small animal rota. We provide inpatient care to improve our service to clients and maintain hospital status. We pride ourselves on committed client and patient care and aim to give the best possible service.
Our facilities include two operating theatres, an imaging suite with modern ultrasound and X‑ray machines, and a dental procedures room with dental X‑ray. We also have a large garden behind the practice often used for sunny lunch breaks or exercising inpatients.
About the Team and Culture
Park Issa is a memorable practice because of the wonderful team who works here. Our team consists of 2 small animal clinical directors and 8 vets working a mix of hours and caseloads, plus certificate holders in small animal medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology! We are willing to support you clinically and personally, and we value well‑being and work‑life balance. Regular meetings discuss cases, and someone is always around to give advice and support.
