A school in St. Albans is seeking a passionate and adaptable Design Technology Teacher to join on a long-term supply basis starting in September 2025. Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
1. Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching may be available, depending on experience).
2. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students to apply creativity and practical skills.
3. Mark, assess, and provide feedback on student work in line with school policies.
4. Track student progress, monitor attainment, and provide support and interventions where necessary.
5. Maintain a high standard of classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality of curriculum delivery.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher (QTS essential) with strong subject knowledge in Design Technology, and experience teaching a range of specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering. We seek a creative, enthusiastic educator who can inspire students to excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of Design Technology, with excellent classroom management skills and the ability to establish positive rapport with students. Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive attitude are essential to seamlessly integrate into the school community.
