Main duties of the job
This fixed-term post will support the HIV and Specialist Sexual Health service at the Trafalgar Clinic at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. It is an HIV-focused job with the opportunity for involvement in the specialist Sexual Health Service. There is no SRH commitment. The successful candidate will form part of the HIV on-call rota 1:6 with a 2% on-call supplement. We envisage that a substantive post will be developed in due course in collaboration with acute/general medicine to strengthen our links and best meet the needs of our patients.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will require broad experience in HIV and Sexual Health, and will be encouraged and supported to develop an area of special interest. This will be an ideal post for candidates who have joint CCT in GUM/ General Internal Medicine.

Clinical Experience
* HIV clinical experience including inpatients
* Wide experience GU medicine.
* Experience of conducting/contributing to clinical trials
* Awareness of the challenges of an inner city, multicultural community
* Wide experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health
* Experience in service and care pathway development
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration
* MRCP or equivalent
* Diploma in GUM
* Diploma in HIV
* DFSRH (Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health)
* CCT/CESR in Genitourinary Medicine/HIV and inclusion on specialist register or within 6 months of this requirement
* Educational Supervisor experience/training
* LoC Med Ed or PGEA in Medical Education
* LoC Implant
Clinical Audit
* Evidence of effective participation in clinical audit and research.
* Understanding of clinical governance
Teaching Experience
* Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience
* Teaching skills/specific training and/or qualification
Management and Administrative Experience
* Multidisciplinary working
* Organisational skills
* Understanding of commissioning landscape in the specialty
* Attendance at medical management course and understanding management issues.
Research Experience
* Understanding of the importance of research in a clinical setting
* Research training Conference presentations and/or publications
* Broader understanding of research in the NHS setting
