About the Role
As our Recruitment Officer, you'll manage the full recruitment lifecycle for a range of non-driver roles — from engineering and administration to customer service, supervisory, and operational positions. You'll act as a trusted partner to hiring managers, providing expert advice, building strong relationships, and ensuring a seamless, positive candidate experience from start to finish.
You'll also represent First Bus London at recruitment events, promote our employer brand, and play a key role in shaping how we grow our teams across multiple sites.
What You'll Be Doing
* Manage end-to-end recruitment for all non-driver vacancies.
* Partner with hiring managers to forecast needs and design recruitment strategies.
* Source talent using job boards, social media, referrals, and networking.
* Conduct screenings and interviews, ensuring professionalism and efficiency.
* Coordinate interviews, assessments, and offers.
* Maintain accurate records and compliance with Right to Work and GDPR.
* Track recruitment performance and support continuous improvement.
* Travel between sites to support local hiring and events.
What We're Looking For
* 2–4 years' experience in recruitment (in-house and agency mix preferred).
* Proven ability to manage multiple roles and meet deadlines.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Organised, adaptable, and proactive — with great attention to detail.
* Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
* CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) and educated to A-Level or equivalent.
* A genuine passion for people, service, and continuous improvement.
