We’ve got an exciting opportunity to recruit a number of Ie Recovery Officers in both Liverpool and Warrington on behalf of a well-established housing association. This role is temporary until at least the end of March 2026, with extensions likely and temp to perm opportunities possible. This is a hybrid role, working 2 x days per week from the office.
We’re looking for candidates who have relevant experience in relation to ie/rent recovery, ideally within a social housing setting. You will have worked with tenants in arrears, and be able to carry out affordability/expenditure assessments in order to devise affordable payment plans to recover rent. Your ultimate responsibility will be to monitor and manage your own caseload of rent accounts to maximise ie and minimise arrears for the group.
Key responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and performance management of customer rent accounts, taking enforcement action where appropriate to recover debts from nonpliant customers
2. Carry out ie and expenditure assessments and vulnerability reviews to agree affordable repayment plans
3. Referring customers experiencing financial difficulties to external advice and support services
4. Liaise with Enforcement Officers, Tenancy Sustainment Officers and Neighbourhood Officers to provide early support and intervention
5. Prepare legallypliant documents, including NOSP, court forms and eviction reports
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience of managing tenant arrears within a social housing environment with an understanding of the eviction and enforcement process in arrears cases
7. Strong case management skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and on your own initiative
8. An understanding of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, and the ability to offer low-level advice and guidance
9. Ability to work 2 x set days per week in either Liverpool or Warrington
