The role
Start date: September 2026 Location: Sandwell
A well‑established secondary academy in the West Midlands is seeking a committed Food Technology Teacher to join its Design & Technology department on a one‑day‑a‑week basis. The academy is known for its structured learning environment, strong pastoral systems, and a culture that supports both staff and student success. You will deliver engaging, practical Food Technology lessons across KS3-KS4, working within a supportive, well‑resourced department that values consistency, subject expertise, and high expectations.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality Food Technology lessons that build practical skills and nutritional understanding
Plan, assess, and track progress in line with curriculum requirements
Maintain excellent safety standards in practical kitchen environments
Contribute to departmental planning on a part‑time basisRequirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or strong relevant teaching experience
Up‑to‑date Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong subject knowledge in Food Preparation & Nutrition
Confidence managing practical lessons and maintaining a safe, organised workspace
