About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to join our friendly, established team within LUC. The successful individual will support with the delivery of a broad portfolio of projects, including a range of strategic projects with a particular focus on addressing the climate emergency. Our current portfolio includes:
* Green infrastructure strategies;
* Open space studies and play strategies;
* Strategic landscape assessments;
* Climate adaptation strategies;
* Woodland and tree strategies;
* Concept masterplans / design guidance; and
* Landscape management plans.
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to support our team working on a diverse range of landscape planning, design and landscape management projects within a range of contexts. The successful candidate will work as part of our award-winning Landscape Planning & Management team and will demonstrate a keen interest in green infrastructure / strategic design projects. You will enjoy thinking at the landscape scale and working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, often involving collaboration with colleagues in LUC's broad range of complementary disciplines (such as ecology and planning).
As a Senior / Principal, you will be involved in all stages of project development and will be expected to participate in all aspects of our work, including assisting with generation of new business, project support and administration. Within this role, you will work with the wider team to produce a diverse range of project outputs, ranging from technical reports to high-quality graphics to support wider project delivery.
LUC's award-winning landscape planning and management team is passionate about our environment and are proud of our positive impact. We are enthusiastic about influencing the wider conversation and policy agenda, promoting positive outcomes for nature, people and place as well as responding to emerging guidance. We draw on the skills and experiences with colleagues in other disciplines including strategic ecology, landscape design, transport planning and environmental planning to fulfil these aims.
The role can be based in LUC's offices in Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Manchester or Sheffield.
A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
Salary: £32,500 - £46,000 FTE (Dependent on experience), plus London weighting if applicable
Experience and qualifications
We are looking for an individual with excellent all-round landscape design, management and planning skills, or a particular focus and specialism in a specific area. Whatever your field of expertise, you will need to demonstrate technical competence and project delivery to a high standard.
Your general skills will need to include high quality reporting, graphics, presentation, verbal and written communication.

Essential
* Educated with a relevant landscape related qualification at degree or post graduate level, or a blend of knowledge and qualifications reflecting a similar level of expertise.
* Excellent report writing and visual communication skills.
* Experience of being client facing and working with other external team members.
* Excellent project management skills, or a willingness to learn.
* A passion for delivering projects that make a difference - both to people and to the environment.
* Enthusiasm and a willingness to take on new challenges.
* Have a UK driving licence and experience of undertaking field work (with competent photography skills).
Desirable
* Chartered member of the Landscape Institute.
* Experience of contributing to the winning of work.
* Experience of consultation and engagement.
