The Role
Retail Security Officer responsibilities include providing a visible deterrence, responding to incidents, completing incident reports and collaborating with local authorities. You will carry out guarding duties in-store and support the client with risk reduction strategies.
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities to minimise risk
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Completing colleague and contractor searches in line with customer company policy
* Digitally reporting incidents and using tablets/phones for daily activity planning
* Providing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the Client and Local Authorities
The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you should be a confident communicator capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict professionally.
Required Experience And Qualifications
You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role. Previous experience in a Retail Security role is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
