RTT/Patient Pathway Validator

The closing date is 15 April 2026

We are looking to Recruit a Band 4 RTT/Patient Pathway Validator at The Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital.

Rtt Validators are responsible for validating patient pathways across the entire Trust PTL to ensure accurate and robust information to support performance reporting, high data quality and to assist in managing patients through their RTT pathway.

The Trust is undergoing a major change in the collection of 18 weeks information through a new Data Information System providing an efficient Patient Tracking List (PTL), a new Patient Administration System (PAS) upgrade and associated changes in processes.

This will have a significant effect on existing staff groups involved in 18 week data collection and recording as well as inpatient, outpatient and other administrative staff groups. This post will help support the change process ensuring that the Trust has sustainable processes in place for maintaining high quality RTT data, and effective management of RTT wait times.

Please note that this vacancy may close earlier due to the amount of applications we receive.

Main duties of the job

To support validation arising out of the PAS upgrade during the initial go live and whilst Divisional and Medical Records processes are embedded within the Trust.

Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance of relevant processes and procedures needed to manage an effective RTT Validation Team ensuring deliverables are met to agreed timescales and quality standards.

Planning, prioritisation and allocation of work packages for all team members.

Assisting the induction process for all new team members.

To provide specialist RTT knowledge and support for team members, as well as Outpatient and Inpatient Booking teams to improve their effectiveness.

To co-ordinate the work of the team members ensuring validation targets for both volume and accuracy are met in line with strict timescales.

To use advanced Cerner, NHS eReferral Service (eRS) skills and other electronic hospital referral (e.g. eVetting, Hillingdon Care Record/HCR) and data systems to interpret and translate Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathway data for individual patients in accordance with agreed practices and standards to enable highly accurate submissions of this key performance indicator to the Department of Health.
