Overview
SEMH Early Years Teaching Assistant role in Birmingham. Flexible supply and long-term opportunities available through Protocol Education in partnership with inclusive Early Years and Primary settings.
Role Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs in Early Years settings.
* Assist in implementing individual support and behaviour plans.
* Support classroom routines and help maintain a positive learning environment.
* Encourage the development of social and emotional skills through play and structured activities.
* Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals.
* Contribute to the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH, ideally within EYFS or Primary
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young children
* Good understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Relevant TA qualifications or child-related experience (Level 2/3 desirable)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Protocol Education)
* Availability for flexible supply work or interest in securing a long-term placement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
