Job Title: Systems/Test Engineer
About the Position:
The Portfolio organizes and optimizes our life-cycle engineering/sustainment functions by combining field system sustainment with current operations in quick reaction, urgent operational needs, and direct field support mission areas into the same portfolio of responsibility.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Test Engineer to join our team supporting critical defense acquisition programs. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in test engineering, including knowledge of DoDI 5000, the Defense Acquisition System, DA PAM 73-1, IEEE-29148, and will contribute to designing, executing, and evaluating comprehensive testing strategies. This role involves utilizing cutting-edge tools and technologies such as MATLAB, Python, and other relevant software to analyze sensor data.
Key Duties:
1. Develop, plan, integrate, coordinate, and execute evaluations for the Army's C5ISR systems, aligning with program requirements and regulations.
2. Provide independent System Evaluation Plans/Reports or System Assessments on operational effectiveness, suitability, and survivability of equipment used by contractors, soldiers, and foreign partners.
3. Develop test strategies, plans, and concepts; coordinate with Operational Test Command, Capabilities Managers, and Program Managers to ensure comprehensive testing.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of military and civilian stakeholders to ensure thorough Test and Evaluation processes.
5. Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in test engineering to improve methods and tools.
6. Identify, document, and analyze test results to uncover issues; collaborate to resolve defects and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer.
* Working knowledge of DoDI 5000 and the Defense Acquisition System.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering.
* A master's degree or higher in a related field may substitute for 3 years of experience.
* DAWIA Practitioner Certification in Test and Evaluation.
Additional Information:
Travel in a Temporary Duty (TDY) status for at least 50% of the time is expected.
Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. The position is a SECRET position, and the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance/access. A Single Scope Background Investigation is required prior to hiring and periodically thereafter.
Additional Skills:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Expertise in test and evaluation types and processes.
* Familiarity with advanced test automation tools and methodologies.
* Experience with analysis tools such as MATLAB and Python.
* Experience with CAD and Windchill.
* Experience performing system audits and quality inspections.
