Job Description
Fantastic opportunity to join BEAR Scotland’s North West Electrical team as an Electrician based in Perth, Inverness, or Kingussie (full time).
The North West Trunk Road Unit covers approximately 1,422 km of trunk roads through some of the most scenic parts of the country. It includes 1,501 bridges and structures, such as the Kessock Bridge (carrying the A9 north of Inverness) and the A87 Skye Crossing.
The unit's coverage spans from Thurso and Wick in the Highlands to Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, and from Uig on Skye to Perth and Stirling in the central belt.
Role includes:
1. Conducting regular inspections and electrical maintenance on North West Trunk Road facilities.
2. Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults efficiently to minimise disruptions to road users.
3. Contributing to electrical system upgrades and enhancements for projects.
4. Collaborating with a team of skilled professionals to ensure the safe operation of critical infrastructure.
5. Strictly adhering to safety standards and regulations to ensure safety for the public and team members.
6. Providing technical expertise and recommendations for continuous improvements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
1. Full approval as an Electrician, supported by relevant certifications and licenses.
2. Experience backed by a minimum of 4 years in electrical maintenance and repair.
3. Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and practices.
4. Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to perform under demanding conditions.
5. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
6. Willingness to work in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
7. A fully approved UK driving licence.
