About the role
As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will actively embody our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers. When not on the road, you'll support the shop team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming operation of the shop.
Note: You need to be 18 years or older to work in this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day in store, preparing for your deliveries.
* Load and prepare your van, ensuring all orders are ready for efficient delivery.
* Complete vehicle safety checks, maintain road compliance, and adhere to health and safety standards.
* Represent the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service.
* Assist customers with shopping and build rapport based on trust and service.
* Support the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.
Essential skills/experience
* Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Good time management skills.
* Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting crates and moving cages.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
* IT literacy.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are advantageous.
Part-time position, 22.5 hours/week, working Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with early starts and late finishes between 06:00 and 22:45.
