Job Title: Bicycle Mechanic at Evans Cycles
As a Cycle Tech at Evans Cycles, your primary responsibility is to provide expert bicycle repair and maintenance services to customers. You will ensure that bicycles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to a high standard, while delivering excellent customer service and advice.
Responsibilities:
1. Bicycle Repairs: Perform a wide range of repairs, including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, drivetrain maintenance, and suspension service. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues accurately.
2. Bicycle Assembly: Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer guidelines and store standards, ensuring safety and readiness for sale.
3. Service Consultations: Interact with customers to assess their repair and maintenance needs, providing recommendations and cost estimates.
4. Parts and Accessories: Assist customers in selecting appropriate parts, accessories, and upgrades.
5. Safety Inspections: Conduct safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
6. Quality Control: Ensure all repaired bicycles meet quality standards and safety regulations.
7. Inventory Management: Maintain workshop organization, manage spare parts and tools inventory.
8. Customer Service: Provide excellent service, explain repair work, answer questions, and advise on bicycle maintenance.
9. Proficiency in bicycle mechanics and diagnosing and repairing various bicycle types and components.
10. Previous experience as a bicycle mechanic is highly desirable.
11. Knowledge of bicycle brands, models, and components.
12. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
13. Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
14. Ability to work independently and in a team.
15. Knowledge of safety standards and practices in bicycle repair.
16. Willingness to stay updated on bicycle technology and repair techniques.
Work Environment and Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted in a workshop environment. May require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects. Flexible work hours, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary based on store hours and customer demand.
