The Challenge: Motorcycles face aerodynamic drag issues that limit performance and efficiency. Traditional design methods are often constrained by cost and geometry. This internship project explores nature-inspired solutions—such as those found in shark skin or owl feathers—and applies them to motorcycle surfaces using digital tools. Your work will help identify and simulate innovative surface geometries that improve aerodynamic flow, reduce drag, and support the company’s mission to create eco-efficient motorcycles. As a Digital Design Intern, you will: Analyse baseline aerodynamic data and present it in a digital dashboard. Conduct a literature review of biomimicry and drag-reduction systems used in other industries. Collaborate on CAD modelling of bio-inspired surface concepts. Use CFD simulations to evaluate aerodynamic performance. Compile findings into a final report and present recommendations for future development.
