About Our Client
Excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Services Manager to join the Estates & Facilities team of a leading university. You will oversee a team of multi-skilled maintenance staff to deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across their extensive and expanding estate.
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, Engineering, and Sustainability, the Maintenance Services Manager will lead and be responsible for overseeing approximately 55 staff responsible for service delivery of urgent, reactive, and compliance maintenance necessary for estate upkeep. The role includes managing a maintenance budget of around £5 million.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and management to a team of circa 60 multi-disciplinary maintenance staff and compliance tasks.
* Manage recruitment, selection, and induction of new staff.
* Set high standards of performance and behavior; engage staff in delivering excellent service to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the Director and Senior Leadership Team to develop operational plans aligned with key priorities.
* Manage day-to-day expenditure of the maintenance budgets.
* Work with the Head of Operations on implementing and embedding the CAFM system.
* Coordinate work processes related to Reactive, Planned, Preventative Maintenance, and Compliance works.
* Coordinate and allocate tasks related to minor works requests with the Engineering Team.
* Champion Health and Safety policies, ensuring a culture of commitment and conducting H&S audits.
The Successful Applicant
* Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or Facilities-related subject preferred.
* Excellent knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Building Services (M&E).
* Significant experience delivering frontline Maintenance Services across a large estate.
* Experience managing a team of multi-skilled maintenance staff.
* Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
* Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
* NEBOSH certification preferred.
