About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while promoting ethically sourced products and recommending recipes to customers. You'll bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life through your enthusiasm and friendliness, building lasting relationships with customers. Your efforts will influence their perception of the Waitrose brand, fostering trust and loyalty, while also helping to maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure your food counter maintains high standards of presentation and hygiene at all times.
* Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and reducing food wastage.
* Stay informed about new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
