About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on high-voltage substation projects in Scotland. This role will focus on testing, energisation, and ensuring systems are delivered safely and in line with project requirements.
Responsibilities
* Carry out commissioning and testing of HV substation equipment (132kV–400kV)
* Perform functional testing on switchgear, transformers, and protection systems
* Execute commissioning procedures and test plans
* Support energisation and fault-finding activities
* Work closely with P&C; and SCADA teams
* Complete test documentation and commissioning reports
* Ensure compliance with HSE and site procedures
* Assist with system handover and completion activities
Qualifications
* Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
* Relevant HSE certification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH desirable)
* UK project experience preferred
Required Skills
* Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer on HV substation projects
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems (132kV–400kV)
* Experience with protection & control systems (desirable)
* Familiarity with UK transmission standards and practices
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
