Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and have experience in food production and preparation. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise kitchen staff and oversee daily operations to ensure efficient food production
* Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring dishes meet quality standards
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene
* Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement new recipes and improve existing ones
* Assist in managing kitchen costs while maintaining quality
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques
* Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen management
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy environment
