About the Service The Haringey Young Adults service is seeking a dynamic and experienced Leaving Care Team Manager to lead a dedicated team supporting care leavers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of care experienced young people, who has the leadership skills to inspire a team and deliver exceptional support to young adults transitioning to independence. We are a busy and supportive service working with looked after children and young people leaving care aged 16 to 25 years old and playing a vital role in ensuring positive futures. We also manage the referral and assessment and ongoing support for unaccompanied minors arriving in the borough aged 16 and over and ensure a robust response to age assessment requirements. The experiences and progress of care leavers in Haringey was graded as Good by Ofsted in 2023. Our strengths are noted as having a team who are dedicated and knowledgeable in supporting care experienced young people. Our approach is very much relationship based, and we have a stable workforce of permanent employees. We offer robust support to care leavers through our local offer with a particularly strong housing and employment offer. Ofsted 2023 further noted that Haringey has a diverse population, and this is reflected well in our workforce and senior leadership teams. At all levels, staff are proud of working for Haringey. You will: Deliver high-quality support to care leavers, promoting positive outcomes during their transition to adulthood. Prepare, update, and implement pathway plans, ensuring parallel planning where needed. Fulfil statutory duties in line with Leaving Care guidance. Work holistically with care leavers and families during transitions and ensuring multi-disciplinary working when necessary. Support care leavers with complex needs, including mental health, disabilities, parenting, immigration, and adult services involvement. Understand financial constraints in local authorities and apply best value principles for effective outcomes. Demonstrate strong knowledge of care leavers’ challenges and deliver responsive, needs-led services. Communicate effectively, drive positive change, and build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and partners. Provide high-quality, evidence-based assessments and apply Signs of Safety in your practice. About the Role A Personal Advisor’s primary role is to ensure the diverse population of care leavers are provided with the necessary support, to successfully make their transition to adulthood and independence.
