The Opportunity
This is a key opportunity to join a dynamic and growing Public Sector Internal Audit team as an Assistant Manager. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of public sector clients, including local authorities, NHS bodies, and other government organisations. The role offers a blend of technical challenge, client engagement, and leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage internal audit assignments across a range of public sector entities.
\t
* Identify and assess risk matters, providing practical solutions and recommendations.
\t
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact throughout the year.
\t
* Deliver projects within agreed timescales and budgets, ensuring quality and compliance.
\t
* Supervise and coach junior team members, supporting their development and performance.
\t
* Collaborate with senior managers, directors, and partners to deliver strategic insights and value.
\t
* Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and client pitches.
About You
\t
* ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified (or overseas equivalent).
\t
* Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
\t
* Experience in public sector audit and financial reporting.
\t
* Demonstrable project management and leadership skills.
\t
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
\t
* Commercial awareness and understanding of current market trends.
\t
* Proven ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
