Job Description Making decisions and providing professional advice on the enforcement of Planning Legislation, with a specific focus on planning conditions in accordance with agreed objectives. Requirements Drafting recommendations and taking action on breaches of planning conditions and associated enforcement cases Carry out effective negotiation to achieve compliance with planning conditions and other related breaches of planning control Drafting recommendations to Committee in accordance with the Enforcement Charter Responding to work that has commenced on site and completion of works working closely with Transportation to have a specific focus on Highway Safety breaches in rural areas Working with case Planning Officers and other colleagues to resolve condition breaches. Preparing planning appeal and court submissions on behalf of the Council Contributing to the effectiveness of the service The Individual Experience of working in a Development Management Team Previous experience of investigation/research work General understanding of Local Government issues HNC Qualification in Built Environment or related Discipline High level of personal initiative and ability to work with the minimum of supervision High level of diplomacy and ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of customers Excellent negotiation and time management skills Good oral/written communication/numeracy Analytical Abilities Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Ability to interpret planning legislation and planning policies Ability to be able to deal with conflict Ability to handle pressure situations when dealing with a wide variety of customers Organise and manage a caseload Ability to undertake research with an accurate/methodical approach Able to multitask A commitment to deliver quality services to agreed standards Research capabilities You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
