The Colne Practice has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our team on a part-time basis for 20‑25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, efficient, and patient-focused medicines management services. You will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate medication, including those in care homes and assisted living settings. Additionally, you will support clinical staff in optimising prescribing practices.
* Request prescriptions accurately and efficiently in accordance with NHS and practice protocols
* Process repeat prescription requests and liaise with clinicians as needed
* Provide advice to patients on the safe use of medications, including over‑the‑counter products where appropriate
* Support medicines reconciliation and prescription queries
* Assist in audits and quality improvement initiatives related to prescribing and medicines management
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and other practice staff to support the safe and effective use of medicines
* Maintain accurate patient records using the clinical system (EMIS)
* The Colne Practice is a friendly GP practice with a list size of approximately 10,500 patients. Our team comprises 7 GP partners, 2 practice nurses, 1 HCA, 2 clinical pharmacists and reception and admin teams.
