About the role
As part of the health visiting team, the post holder will provide care to children and families in support of the wider function of health visiting services to support families with children 0‑5 years. The community nursery nurse will undertake home visits (or in a variety of community settings) to work with families on elements of child development, infant feeding, wellbeing, health improvement and parenting.
Key responsibilities
* Provide care to children and families 0‑5 years through home visits or community settings.
* Work with families on child development, infant feeding, wellbeing, health improvement and parenting.
* Support the wider health visiting team and facilitate the delivery of community nursery services.
* Coordinate with local agencies, health professionals and parents to share information and support family needs.
* Maintain accurate records and support clinical governance standards.
* Participate in professional development and contribute to the clinical education programme.
Requirements
* Relevant nursing qualification and registration with NHS Scotland (PVG Scheme membership or equivalent).
* Experience working with early years children and families in a community or home visiting context.
* Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to self‑direct work, manage time effectively and work safely in the community.
* Legal right to work in the United Kingdom and willingness to provide UK visa documentation if required.
