Responsibilities
* Contribute to environmental impact assessments and development consent order projects.
* Lead site visits, ecological surveys, marine ecology and meet client project managers.
* Lead production of screening and scoping reports to support planning applications.
* Utilise database toolkits with a GIS front end for the development of digital EIA, integrating datasets such as COPERNICUS, CEFAS, MMO, MAGIC, and SDG.
* Develop innovative methods of impact assessment for terrestrial, marine, coastal, and ecological impacts.
* Develop best available techniques for environmental assessments that consider climate resilience, emissions, noise, biodiversity, water discharges, and heritage; experience in leading or significantly contributing to ecological surveys, HRA, and environmental impact assessments for new developments and operational permitting applications.
Qualifications
* Background in ecology, zoology, botany, marine sciences or equivalent.
* Chartered ecologist, environmentalist, or scientist.
* Recent postgraduate ecologists considered; knowledge of air quality management, noise abatement policy and legislation, or dispersion modelling methodologies for terrestrial and/or marine environments.
* Licensed bat ecologist with experience leading bat surveys, including preliminary roost assessments and dusk/dawn surveys, in line with current UK best practice and legislation.
* Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges.
* Willingness to travel on business as required, including overseas sites.
