Overview
Contract Java / J2EE Developer. Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance or eligible to obtain SC. Duration: 12 months. Location: Telford - hybrid working (2 days per week on site). Rate: £400 - £460 per day insideIR35.
Urgently hiring for an experienced Java / J2EE Developer to join a delivery-focused engineering team. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise across Java, PL/SQL, Spring Boot, and WebLogic, contributing to the development, stability, and continuous improvement of critical services within a secure environment.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using Java and PL/SQL.
* Build, enhance, and support application components and services using Spring Boot.
* Ensure all development aligns with established engineering standards, best practices, and security requirements.
* Deploy, support, and maintain applications running on WebLogic.
* Collaborate closely with team members to integrate new features and components effectively.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and system defects.
* Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
* Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
* Strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL development.
* Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
* Experience deploying and supporting applications on WebLogic.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working with large-scale, complex enterprise systems.
* Familiarity with Agile or structured delivery environments.
* Ability to understand, maintain, and improve existing codebases.
