As a Senior Software Development Consultant, you’ll contribute to mission‑critical systems for one of our key UK Government clients, helping transform how citizens and legal professionals engage with the justice system. You’ll bring technical curiosity, problem‑solving strength and collaborative energy as you build secure, scalable services and influence technical direction. Working within a supportive community of experts, you’ll take ownership of meaningful engineering challenges while contributing ideas that drive innovation and long‑term client value.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities
* Build & Enhance: Design, develop and evolve robust server‑side applications using modern Java frameworks.
* Lead & Influence: Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design discussions.
* Collaborate & Support: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, providing guidance on best practice and integration approaches.
* Deliver & Improve: Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive quality through CI/CD and automated pipelines.
* Integrate & Optimise: Manage large‑scale component integration within complex web ecosystems.
* Stabilise & Resolve: Support incident and change management to ensure system reliability.
* Innovate & Shape: Contribute to continuous improvement and future technical direction.
Required Qualifications
* Strong Java development experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate.
* Proven experience with IDAM and building applications integrating with platforms such as ForgeRock, One Identity, Okta, Azure AD or Auth0.
* Hands‑on experience with Jenkins, CI/CD, Git and modern DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of reverse engineering and working independently on Jira‑managed workloads.
* Experience with Azure cloud architecture and Terraform (IaC) is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with incident management, monitoring and observability tools.
Nice to Have
* Ansible, Front‑end development experience, advanced CI/CD, broader Azure experience.
