Senior Authorised Person, 33kV –SSe
Location: This role covers a region across Oxford, Andover, Salisbury and Yeovil but we would consider applicants nationwide.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday – outages on site, admin and planning from home
We are looking for a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), 33kV to lead and manage the tree cutting electrical provision team within Ground Control’s operational area with SSE. As the lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering their own tree cutting related power outages, as well as being the lead on all other tree cutting outages carried out by a small team of subcontractor SAP’s.
What you’ll do
The successful candidate will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, operational excellence and always drive to provide the best value to Ground Control and its Clients. This role is based on up to 33kV work.
Key Responsibilities
* Efficient and comprehensive planning and delivery of all individual as well as team assigned tree cutting power outages.
* Apply/Remove/Oversee the application of earths, back feeds and generation when required.
* Support and drive the delivery of the overall tree cutting power outage programme.
* Lead and manage the electrical provision team to ensure that all programmes of work are delivered to time and budget and in line with contractual commitments to time, cost and quality.
* Assist in the management of budgets relating to the electrical provision.

What we’re looking for
* Senior Authorised Person with Field Control as defined by the SSE or any other DNO approval. SSE approval is highly preferable however we can consider a training package to achieve SSE approval over 3 months if your current approval is from a different DNO.
* Educated to HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* A broad understanding of UK Power Networks electrical shutdown provision processes, rules and regulations or any other DNO.
* Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
* Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
