A vacancy has arisen at Bournemouth Hospital for an associate practitioner working as part of a small team to provide efficient laboratory support to the Consultant Histopathologists. Responsibilities of the post will include providing a laboratory based administration of outsourcing diagnostic histology cases and assisting in the organisation of the Consultant Histopathologists workload. They will provide laboratory assistance, including selection, co-ordination and dispatch of histology cases to partner out-source companies. There will also be a comprehensive administration of sample tracking, auditing, exception reporting and monitoring to ensure service provision is maintained. The ideal candidate will be able to prioritise and organise their own workload and will have confidence in dealing with colleagues and GP’s, clinicians etc. The post requires attention to detail, commitment and an ability to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate suitable experience in UKAS accredited pathology laboratory.
