Join our Engineering and Quality Assurance leadership team as Integration Chapter Lead, working with the Engineering & QA Chapter Area Lead. You'll lead, encourage, and empower a team of API Gateway developers and Full Stack Developers while being an active squad member yourself!
You'll focus on 'How' we work rather than the 'What' we deliver. You'll be responsible for managing a team of colleagues, deploying them to the right squads across the business, and developing solutions ranging from building and maintaining APIs on Apigee Edge to creating microservices.
You'll spearhead the development and integration of APIs, ensuring seamless connectivity across our systems. Assist colleagues in developing skills, fostering creativity, and encouraging collaboration.
* Define standards, methodologies, tooling, and practices to optimise chapter delivery.
* Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and training.
* Create an inclusive culture embracing our 'We're unique together' behaviour.
* Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of APIs, ensuring high performance and reliability.
* Support the business in defining strategy and transformation, collaborating with solution architects to deliver scalable and secure API solutions.
Requirements include:
* Experience leading a team of engineers in an agile environment.
* Proven experience designing and developing APIs using platforms like Apigee Edge.
* Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Deep understanding of API design principles, RESTful architectures, SOAP services.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java.
* Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
* Significant experience using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
* Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Demonstrable experience as a servant leader empowering colleagues.
